Subject: Minoxing without chain
My Minox C came without a chain. I have two measuring chains
attached to IIIs and B, but I found out that with a chain hooked
to button , the chain might catch on to car door handle or
shopping cart etc, so I use the C without chain.
A big attraction of Minox submini is its closeup capability: half
a page, a diagram, a flower, another Minox etc. None of my Contax
T2,
Rollei 35 or Minox GTE can do this kind of photography.
But how to make closeups without a chain ?
I use my hand and fingers.
Stretch hand = 8 inch, that is the closest focusing distance
of Minox A/B/C/LX.
Index finger = 4 inches
First two sections of index finger = 2 inch.
With these 'measuring device' I can set the Minox to all
sorts of closeup distance
8 inch
10 inch = a stretch hand plus half of index finger
1 foot = streatch hand + index finger
16 inches = two stretch hands
....
Pictures taking this way came out quite sharp.
