Subject: Agfaortho as alternate microfilm choice
Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
As I wrote once before, I used to like Agfaortho as an alternative
to TechPan. Its sensitivity is rather complementary to the EK product,
being heavily blue sensitive with less sensitivity to red at the
long
wavelength end. Neither, of course, is ideal for landscapes, but
the Agfa
film probably does people a bit better (Caucasian lips come out
dark for
example; this would probably hold for anybody else since spectrophotometer
measurements of human skin show surprisingly little in the way of
spectral
differences, just total reflectivity. Don't believe it: take some
pix and
look with a spot-metering color analyzer.) Will give you bright
skies
instead of dark ones. The problem was that MPL didn't list the film
anymore
and presumably doesn't stock it.
But the Minox web site (at least on the German language side) DOES
list
Agfaortho as an available product. I will e-mail Minox-Germany and
ask if
the film is available in the USA and let you know the answers when
I get them.
